Tonight, the highland family joyfully and peacefully enjoys Brassica juncea L greens

Tonight, are we having cải mèo greens for dinner? Since it wasn’t dark yet after work, I took the chance to run up to the garden and pick some plums to send to my younger brother. Our plums have just started to ripen. Sending them at this stage makes them extra delicious.

(If they ripen too much, they tend to spoil when sent far away. While picking, whenever I found a nice, crispy one, I ate it right away. After a short while, I had already filled a whole basket.

After picking plums, I gathered some cải greens. Next to these greens are super-fruiting squash plants that my mom bought at the market and planted. The little one has been so well-behaved and even knows how to help wash the dishes now.

"Mom, is this clean enough?" See, washing dishes while constantly asking mom questions.

The water is boiling, so I put the greens in. The past few days, the weather has been a bit chilly. Cooking over a wood stove makes it less cold.

I put some cherry tomatoes on the fire and grilled the green chili before pounding them together. Then, I crushed some instant noodles and opened two packs for dinner. After that, I cracked four eggs into the mix.

I heated the oil in the pan until it was really hot before adding the eggs. Keeping the heat low prevents them from burning. The fried egg noodles turned golden and crispy—perfect for eating with rice.

I also washed some cooling herbal leaves to brew into tea. This drink is great for people who experience internal heat, acne on the face and back, or liver conditions like hepatitis, cirrhosis, and fatty liver.

I always get breakouts in the hot season, but ever since drinking this cooling tea, it's improved a lot. Cải greens are still bitter when boiled, so I stir-fry them with a little water to enhance the flavor.

Some people ask why I bother stir-frying boiled greens, but if you don’t, they stay bitter and aren’t tasty.

We divide the food into two bowls, whether there's a lot or just a little. The eggs, eaten with the chili and cherry tomatoes, taste amazing. But one little one only eats plain eggs.

Come have dinner with my family! Thank you all for watching my video.

Bye-bye, everyone!

Rise at 4 AM to cook breakfast alongside my family in the highlands

This morning I woke up at 4 AM to cook breakfast for my parents before heading out to the fields. Honestly, I've been a daughter-in-law for a few years now, but the number of times I've woken up early to cook is very few. Only on really important days do I set an alarm.  Luckily, I picked some chayote greens yesterday, so this morning I just needed to pick and wash them, then put them in a pot to boil. The rice and greens might take a while to cook since they're a bit tough.  I'll also add some cherry tomatoes to boil with chili. If we don't finish them, we can pack them for lunch in the fields. This is young ginger I bought at the market.  I just cook whatever I have on hand in the morning. Many of you probably haven't eaten this before, have you? It would be even better with some minced meat or a few scrambled eggs. These tomatoes would be more fragrant if grilled over charcoal, but my mother-in-law prefers them boiled like this. I add some salt, seasoning, an...

Planting rice with my parents is hard work, but it's also a lot of fun

We're beating the seedlings to remove the dirt, then we'll bring them back to plant. This is spring water, but it only flows to our fields after a few days of heavy rain. After sleeping, it's almost 11 a.m., so we'll go home for lunch. There's not much for lunch, so I'll cut this melon. Then, I'll use a scraper for the two of us to eat. I'll add a little rice and mix it all together. Eating like this in the late morning is very refreshing and comfortable, everyone. I'm also tired from work, so a simple meal is fine. After resting for a bit, it's time to go back to work. The field we planted with my parents a few days ago is already very green. The small field down here was planted with corn by my parents, so we're only working on it now. By the time I arrived, my mom had already planted a bit. These seedlings are quite grown now, so we plant about 3-4 plants per hole, everyone. We don't have enough seedlings, so my mom and I are going to ...
